TOPIK (Test of Proficiency in Korean) evaluates the Korean language skills of non-native speakers. It is an essential qualification for admission to Korean universities or employment at Korean companies, objectively certifying your proficiency in Korean. Different TOPIK levels are required depending on your purpose, such as studying abroad, employment, or visa applications. Achieving a higher level provides greater advantages in living and working in Korea. Specifically, for an E-7 work visa in Korea, obtaining at least TOPIK level 5 is recommended.
The TOPIK exam consists of two types: TOPIK I and TOPIK II, each with different formats and structures.

[TOPIK I]
TOPIK I evaluates basic Korean proficiency used in everyday life, covering levels 1 to 2. To be eligible for part-time work while studying Korean in Korea, you must hold a certificate of level 2 or higher.
[TOPIK II]
TOPIK II assesses intermediate to advanced Korean proficiency in academic and professional fields, covering levels 3 to 6. To enroll in universities or apply for a work visa in Korea, you must obtain at least a level 3 certificate.
The TOPIK exam is held six times per year in Korea, typically in January, April, May, July, October, and November. Exam fees are approximately 40,000 won for TOPIK I and 55,000 won for TOPIK II. The exam format includes paper-based testing (PBT) and internet-based testing (IBT). The advantage of IBT is faster delivery of test results.
