D-10 Part-Time (Arbeit) Employment

    Eligibility Requirements

    • 1)

      Individuals who have transitioned from a Study (D-2-1~4, D-2-7) visa to a Job-Seeking (D-10) visa and meet all of the following conditions

      • Obtained an associate degree or higher from a domestic university within the past 3 years.

      • Possess a valid TOPIK Level 4 or higher certificate, or have passed the KIIP Level 4 midterm evaluation or been assigned to Level 5 in the pre-assessment (81 points or higher).

      • No prior professional work experience under E-1~E-7 visa categories.

      • No violations of the Immigration Act or other laws (excluding fines).

    • 2)

      Individuals under Technology Startup Preparation (D-10-2) and Advanced Technology Internship (D-10-3) categories are not allowed to work part-time.

    Allowed Work Fields

    • 1)

      General interpretation/translation, food service assistance, office assistance, etc.

    • 2)

      Tourist guide assistance and duty-free shop sales assistance.

    • 3)

      Part-time or full-time seasonal employment activities (E-8).

    • 4)

      Restricted Fields of Work

      • Specialized fields (E-1 ~ E-7), non-professional fields (E-9, E-10).

      • Manufacturing and construction industries are generally restricted based on business registration. However, manufacturing is permitted if the applicant holds TOPIK Level 4 (or has completed KIIP Level 4).

        ※ Construction: Immediate deportation upon first violation, regardless of circumstances.

      • Facilities related to teaching minors foreign languages:

        Activities such as safety assistance or play assistance in English kids’ cafes or English camps are allowed if the applicant provides a criminal background check and a medical certificate, including drug test results.

      • Activities in specific types of work such as delivery riders, substitute drivers, insurance planners, private tutors, and door-to-door sales agents are prohibited.

    Application Procedure

      Employment Contract Preparation Application Approval

      Employment contract between the employer and employee

      (Standard labor contract, including hourly wage)

      Applications must be submitted in person to the designated immigration office.

      (Online application is not available for the D-10 visa category.)

      Permission sticker attached to the foreign registration card or online approval certificate printing

      Required Documents

      • Passport, Alien Registration Card, and application form.

      • Copy of the business registration certificate and standard employment contract.

      • Graduation certificate.

      • Korean proficiency proof: TOPIK certificate or KIIP qualification certificate.
