• Introduction to Seasonal Worker (E-8) Visa

The Seasonal Worker (E-8) visa is a short-term work visa issued to individuals participating in the foreign seasonal worker program to address labor shortages in rural and fishing communities. The program is designed to reflect the specific circumstances of these areas, with maximum autonomy given to local governments in South Korea. Although the nature of work is similar to that under the E-9 (Non-Professional Employment) visa, the issuance conditions and processes differ.

      • ※ In exceptional cases, such as delays in crop harvesting or adverse weather conditions, an extension of up to 3 additional months may be granted.

    • Workers are entitled to the same legal protections as domestic workers under South Korea's Labor Standards Act.
