Overview of the D-10 Visa

The D-10 visa is a residence permit granted to foreigners intending to engage in job-seeking or startup preparation in Korea. It is primarily issued to international students who have graduated from Korean universities and are preparing for employment or technical startups in Korea.

    Eligibility and Visa Types

    • 1)

      General Job-Seeking (D-10-1),Outstanding Talent (D-10-T)

      • Professor (E-1), Conversational Instructor (E-2), Research (E-3), Technical Guidance (E-4), Professional Employment (E-5), Arts and Entertainment (E-6), and Specific Activities (E-7).

        ※ Excludes E-6-2 activities related to entertainment in adult establishments.

      • Includes those working as interns or trainees at companies or organizations while receiving stipends.

    • 2)

      Startup Preparation (D-10-2)

      • For individuals engaging in activities related to startups, such as participation in startup immigration education programs, filing or preparing for intellectual property rights (e.g., patents), and preparing to establish a corporation.

      • Includes individuals qualified for Business Investment (D-8) status who hold a bachelor's degree or higher, possess intellectual property rights or equivalent technical expertise, and are recognized by the Minister of Justice as corporate startup founders (technical startup immigrants).

      Advanced Technology Internship (D-10-3)

      • For individuals participating in internships in advanced technology fields based on an employment contract with companies or institutions meeting the requirements set by the Minister of Justice.

    Duration of Stay

    • 1)

      The period of stay is granted in units of up to one year.

    • 2)

      The period of stay can be extended through an extension application, and the maximum limit of the period of stay is 3 years, granted differently depending on the conditions.

        • Scored 80+ points in evaluation

        • Graduated within 3 years from a Korean college or higher

        • Worked 1+ year at a global top 500 company within 3 years

        • Graduated within 3 years from a university ranked in THE 200 or QS 500

        • Graduated in STEM from Asian universities ranked within QS 1000 (Vietnam, China, Thailand, Japan, India, Indonesia, Malaysia, Singapore, Philippines)

        • Korean university graduates with excellent Korean skills

        • Foreign youth raised in Korea

        • Under 29, foreign university graduates THE/QS top 200 or Korean studies major with TOPIK level 6

        • Completed professional caregiver course

      • Startup Preparation (D-10-2)

        Eligible Individuals Maximum Duration of Stay
        • Scored 35+ in startup visa system

        • K-Startup Grand Challenge participants recommended by the head of KOSME

        • Holders or applicants of patents, design, or utility models

        • Holders of IP rights in OECD countries

        • Completed or attending at least one OASIS course

        • Meets at least one “mandatory” item in startup point system
